BALTIMORE -BGE announces the following executive leadership appointments:

Derrick Dickens has been named BGE's new Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company effective Sept. 25. Dickens returns to BGE from his position as Senior Vice President of Customer Operations and Chief Customer Officer at Exelon-owned Pepco Holdings (PHI), where he had oversight of customer service functions at Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power and Pepco.

Dickens previously served as BGE's Vice President of Technical Services from April 2016 to December of 2019 where he oversaw infrastructure construction projects and system maintenance programs. He was also BGE's executive sponsor for innovation projects, which included pioneering unmanned aerial vehicle inspection capabilities and new electric system reliability technologies. He first joined the Exelon family of companies in 2004 at PECO in Philadelphia, serving as program manager of Distribution Reliability and Maintenance.

Dickens is a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington and previously served on the boards of the B&O Railroad Museum and Enoch Pratt Library in Baltimore.

David Ralph has been named BGE's General Counsel, responsible for providing legal counsel across all aspects of the company's operations including representing the company in its external legal matters, regulatory rate reviews, and other administrative and legal proceedings. Ralph joined BGE in 2019 as associate general counsel and joined Exelon in 2017 as an assistant general counsel for litigation. Before joining Exelon, he engaged in civil practice as a member of national corporate law firms where he served as a partner, concentrating in complex commercial litigation and employment law. Ralph also served in the public sector for several years in a number of key capacities, including the chief of litigation for Baltimore City, deputy city solicitor, and finally as the city solicitor of Baltimore City.

Ralph serves on the boards of directors for Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake and the Living Legends Awards for Service to Humanity Foundation. He is one of the seven members of the Maryland Board of Law Examiners and is a member of the Board of Governors for the Maryland Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
