Exelon Corp. said Monday that Calvin G. Butler Jr., the company's chief operating officer, has been named as president and COO of the company.

Exelon also named Jeanne Jones executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Mr. Butler joined Exelon in 2008, the energy company said, and has held a number of senior leadership positions.

He succeeds Chris Crane, who previously served as president and chief executive. Mr. Crane will continue as Exelon's CEO, the company said.

Jeanne Jones, who previously served as senior vice president of Corporate Finance, succeeds Joseph Nigro. Ms. Jones joined the company in 2007. Previously, she served as vice president of Finance for Exelon Nuclear and CFO of Exelon's Joint Venture Nuclear Group, the company said. She also worked as CFO of ComEd, Exelon said.
