Far Eastern Department Stores, Ltd. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2023. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was TWD 8,252.64 million compared to TWD 7,144.77 million a year ago. Net income was TWD 724.06 million compared to net loss of TWD 25.84 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was TWD 0.51 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of TWD 0.02 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was TWD 0.51 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of TWD 0.02 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was TWD 17,538.26 million compared to TWD 16,206.94 million a year ago. Net income was TWD 1,512.23 million compared to TWD 510.28 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was TWD 1.07 compared to TWD 0.36 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was TWD 1.07 compared to TWD 0.36 a year ago.
Far Eastern Department Stores Ltd. is a Taiwan-based company principally engaged in the operation of department stores and supermarkets. The department stores operated by the Company provide apparels for men and women and children, furniture, home appliances, sports and leisure products and consumer electronics, among others. The Company mainly operates businesses in Taiwan and Mainland China. The Company is also involved in investment businesses, trading businesses, e-commerce businesses, credit cards businesses, the agency of advertisement and importers, as well as the leasing of constructions through its subsidiaries.
