Tunku Iskandar Shah Bin Tunku Muszaffar Shah, Yan's District Officer and Chairman of District Disaster Management Committee received a mock cheque of RM300,000 from Dato' Mohd Banuri Aris, General Manager of Yayasan FELDA representing FGV at the Disaster Operations Control Centre, Dewan Dato' Madi, Yan, Kedah

KUALA LUMPUR, 13 September 2021 - FGV Holdings Berhad (FGV) today contributed RM300,000 in cash and FGV products to 300 residents affected by last month's floods in Yan, Kedah.

FGV is in collaboration with Yayasan FELDA (YF), the FELDA Group's charity body which assists in the process of coordinating programmes, donation handovers and logistic matters.

An allocation of RM1,000 for each affected family includes monetary aid of RM700 credited directly into the recipient's account and RM300 more in the form of FGV products.

Mohd Nazrul Izam Mansor, FGV's Group Chief Executive Officer said that the company has activated the FGV Welfare Fund to ease the burden of locals who are victims of the water surge and flash flood phenomenon.

'We are grateful for the opportunity to provide meaningful assistance with business zakat contributions, through the FGV Welfare Fund. We would also like to thank Yayasan FELDA for their cooperation. Hopefully, FGV will continue to share our sustenance in the future.'

'As a responsible company, FGV is aware and concerned about the needs of flood victims in Yan. We hope that this contribution will help the locals in their daily lives,' continued Mohd Nazrul.

Dato' Mohd Banuri Aris, General Manager of Yayasan FELDA representing FGV presented a mock cheque of RM300,000 in donations and daily necessities to Tunku Iskandar Shah Bin Tunku Muszaffar Shah, Yan's District Officer and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Committee. Also present were Mohammad Afifi Mohammad, Yan's Assistant District Officer (first from left) and Mohd Faizal Abu Bakar, Chief Assistant Director of Productive Welfare & Community Division, Kedah's State Department of Social Welfare (fourth from left).

FGV's range of products includes rice, coconut milk, salt, chilli sauce, soy sauce, creamers, and flavoured milk under the SAJI brand, ADELA Gold cooking oil, as well as Gula Prai coarse sugar produced by MSM Malaysia Holdings Berhad (MSM), a subsidiary of FGV.

Dato' Mohd Banuri Aris, General Manager of Yayasan FELDA represented FGV in presenting a mock cheque to Yan's District Officer, Tunku Iskandar Shah Bin Tunku Muszaffar Shah as Chairman of the Disaster Management Committee for Yan District, as well as daily necessities to three families as a symbolic representation of the donations at the Disaster Operation Control Centre, Dewan Dato' Madi.
