Fidelity Emerging Markets Limited announce that Julian Healy has been appointed to the board of directors of the Company as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect. Mr. Healy will also serve on the Company's Audit and Risk Committee, and it is intended that he will succeed Russell Edey as Chair of that committee when Mr. Edey retires from the Board in the first half of 2023. Mr. Healy advises that he is a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Limited and, until 2021, was a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee at Fondul Proprietatea S.A., a Romanian closed ended fund listed in Bucharest and London.

Mr. Healy has over 25 years of experience working for large financial institutions with a focus on emerging and frontier markets, including roles at a number of investment companies and banks in Asia and Central and Eastern Europe. In addition to the roles described above, he served as a director of XacBank, a retail and business bank in Mongolia. Previously, Mr. Healy led the Private Equity team at the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development, prior to which he spent ten years at JP Morgan Fleming Investment Management and its predecessor, Fleming Investment Management.

Mr. Healy is a chartered accountant and a graduate of Cambridge University with a BA in Modern Languages.
