First Trust Advisors L.P. (?FTA?) announced the appointment of Denise M. Keefe as a Class I Trustee of First Trust MLP and Energy Income Fund, effective November 1, 2021. Ms. Keefe is Executive Vice President of Advocate Aurora Health and President of Advocate Aurora Continuing Health Division (together, ?Advocate?). Ms. Keefe has also been appointed as a member of the Audit Committee, the Valuation Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee for First Trust MLP and Energy Income Fund.
First Trust MLP and Energy Income Fund (the Fund) is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fundâs investment objective is to seek a high level of total return with an emphasis on current distributions paid to common shareholders. The Fund seeks to provide its common shareholders with a vehicle to invest in a portfolio of energy companies. The Fund, under normal market conditions, invests at least 85% of its managed assets in equity and debt securities of master limited partnerships (MLPs), MLP-related entities and other energy sector and energy utility companies. The Fund invests in various sectors, such as oil, gas and consumable fuels, electric utilities, gas utilities, chemicals, water utilities, construction and engineering, energy equipment and services, and semiconductors and semiconductor equipment. First Trust Advisors L.P. serves as an investment advisor for the Fund.
