Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. announced that Fujitsu Frontech Limited has entered into a patent license agreement with Round Rock Research, LLC regarding Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag technology. The agreement provides a license to Round Rock's UHF RFID patents which will facilitate the continued deployment of innovative RFID solutions by Fujitsu Frontech and its authorized distributors and customers by addressing related patent infringement concerns. Announcement of the agreement is expected to accelerate the growth in demand for Fujitsu UHF RFID tag technology in their markets by eliminating potential barriers to adoption by new customers.

The patent license agreement covers all UHF Generations 2 (GEN2) RFID tags produced by Fujitsu Frontech and sold through Fujitsu Frontech North America or various other Fujitsu Group channels. Their washable WT-A522 and WT-A522HT linen tags are in high demand by Healthcare, Hotel/Hospitality and Garment/Linen Rental markets worldwide. The small rugged tags are virtually unnoticeable when installed into garments and they empower asset owners to reduce loss and decrease management costs of their washable assets by allowing them to track items throughout their entire logistics channel.
