Gannett released its 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, highlighting the company's corporate social responsibility pillars.

Notable highlights fromGannett's 2024 ESG Report:

  • Successful completion of inaugural climate disclosure project (CDP) questionnaires for climate change and forests.
  • Issued network-wide 2023 Impact Report, which highlighted impactful journalism produced throughout the year including stories about inclusion, diversity and equity, climate change, poverty, and economic challenges.
  • Incorporated sustainability throughout supply usage and supply chain with guidance from Support the Goals.
  • Total paper consumption decreased 24% compared to 2022.
  • Published ~9,000 articles, photos and videos relating to climate change and the environment, resulting in ~10,000 new digital subscriptions and ~42 million page views.
  • Contributed ~$6.5 million to nonprofits in and around the communities our U.S. network serves through locally driven giving programs.
  • Continued employee enthusiasm around Sustainability Forward, an ESG focused Employee Resource Group, ending 2023 with ~140 employees compared to ~120 employees in 2022.
  • Elevated disability inclusion across the organization and ensured that accessibility is considered equally in the workplace and the communities we serve.
