Jan 26 (Reuters) - Channel Tunnel operator Getlink posted all-time high yearly revenue up 107% from 2021, it said on Thursday, driven by Eurotunnel, ElecLink and Europorte yearly performance.

The France-based company posted revenue for the year ended December of 1.606 billion euros ($1.75 billion), up 63% year-on-year. Fourth quarter revenue rose 152% year-on-year, to 562.7 million euros.

"The success of our customer-focused strategy and the successful commissioning of our ElecLink interconnector between France and Great Britain are enabling us to accelerate our growth," Getlink's CEO Yann Leriche said in a statement.

Revenue for Getlink's mainstay Eurotunnel between the United Kingdom and Europe, reached 1.049 billion euros in 2022, up 63% from 2021 and "a level never before seen for this business," the group said.

Eurotunnel's Le Shuttle saw yearly passenger traffic more than two times higher than in 2021, with more than 2.1 million vehicles transported. Revenue came in at 732 million euros, up 53% on year.

Similarly, Getlink's railway network revenue rose by 90% to 295 million euros in 2022. Traffic from the group's main client Eurostar, which runs high-speed train services across the Channel sea, was more than five times higher than in 2021, with nearly 8.3 million passengers in 2022.

Getlink attributed the increase to the return of tourist traffic.

The group's ElecLink unit, a 52-kilometer cable installed inside the Channel Tunnel which allows electricity exchange between France and the UK, generated 420 million euros in revenue since it began operating in May 2022.

In a call last summer, Leriche suggested that ElecLink could benefit from the ongoing energy crisis affecting France and exacerbated by unexpected maintenance and strikes across the sector.

Finally, revenue of Getlink's rail freight unit Europorte, was up 5% in 2022 to 137 million euros. ($1 = 0.9168 euros) (Reporting by Dina Kartit; Editing by Christopher Cushing)
