On the occasion of International Women's Day, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Airports Infrastructure Limited, today proudly announces the introduction of an all-women shift at the Delhi airport to promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity within the aviation industry.

Aptly named 'Pink Shift,' this unique initiative was introduced at all three terminals of Delhi airport during which women staff handle one complete shift of eight hours.

Recognizing the distinctive skills and perspectives that women bring to various roles within aviation, the all-women shift sets a new standard for inclusivity in the bustling aviation hub of India.

The integration of women into terminal operations brings a multitude of advantages, primarily in diversifying leadership. This infusion introduces a range of experiences, viewpoints, and problem- solving approaches, thereby fostering a more inclusive and comprehensive decision-making process.

The initiative not only aims to enhance operational efficiency but also plays a crucial role in elevating positive passenger experiences. Whether serving as Terminal Managers, Customer Services Officers, or Customer Services Executives, women contribute significantly to cultivating an overall positive image for the airport. Their presence emphasizes customer-centricity, shaping a welcoming and passenger-friendly environment.

Mr Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of DIAL, a subsidiary of GMR Airports Infrastructure Limited, said, 'The introduction of the all-women shift at Delhi airport is a testament to our commitment to diversity and excellence in terminal operations. This initiative goes beyond immediate operational benefits, serving as a potent source of inspiration for aspiring female professionals in the aviation industry, breaking gender stereotypes and contributing to a more diverse and dynamic industry landscape.'

DIAL's initiative aligns with GMR Group's commitment to fostering an inclusive and progressive work environment, setting an example for the industry at large. The move not only recognizes the capabilities of women in aviation roles but also reinforces the importance of diversity in shaping the future of the aviation sector.

The initiative is part of DIAL's broader commitment to creating a workplace that reflects and respects the diversity of its employees. By championing inclusivity, DIAL aims to contribute to a more progressive and harmonious future for the aviation sector in India.
