An investor group led by Grupo Carso has been awarded a MXN 84.8 billion government contract to construct the terminal building of Mexico City Airport. The winning offer came from a consortium which includes Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas, or FCC, and Acciona as well as Cicsa, Gia+A, Prodemex and an arm of Mexico's Grupo Hermes. FCC said in a statement that the investor group will have a 44-month deadline to complete the contract. The building works related to the project will create some 160,000 job positions. Once the airport becomes operational, its staff will number around 450,000 people.
