Gunnebo has been able to invest $21 million in a new-state-of the-art Hamilton facility in Milford, Ohio, near Cincinnati. The plant is now up and running at full speed 16 months after the strategic decision taken in late 2020. The official ribbon cutting ceremony took place on April 27th, in presence of local and regional politicians and industry leaders.

The significant investment involves the replacement of three separate locations with one major high-tech facility for Gunnebo's protection and safe storage business in the US. The new facility enables several strategic business gains, such as increased efficiency, reduced environmental impact and strengthened customer experience. The 180 000 square feet facility, as large as three American football fields, brings together over 200 employees to capture current and future business growth.

The investment includesdigital advancements, cutting-edge technology and a new powder coat paint line and cement plant. These upgrades will enable significant improvements in production quality as well as speed and efficiency. Apart from a leaner production process, other benefits include improved energy efficiency and less impact on the environment with an estimated emission reduction of 20%.

The building uses the latest insulation technology with high efficiency LED lighting, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, as well as a high-end filtration system to reduce airborne pathogens and to improve working environment. The new facility will act as an important innovation hub for Gunnebo, for the production and product development of safes, vaults and drive up systems for the protection of valuables for a variety of industries, such as banking, government and retail.
