Marcella Franchi, Senior Vice President, North America, and Warren Brower, Executive Vice President, Business Development, will travel to Amsterdam from 7 to 9 June 2023 to represent Haffner Energy at the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Congress (Sustainable Aviation Fuels - SAF), one of the most important events in Europe dedicated to the decarbonisation of the aviation industry.

Haffner Energy introduces aerospace players to its patented technology for the production of renewable syngas from biomass thermolysis (SYNOCA®), coupled to a Fischer-Tropsch catalyst. The hydrogen-rich syngas can produce competitive and high-quality SAF.

Haffner Energy's technology is designed to produce affordable SAF, thus helping the aviation industry meet its decarbonization targets.

As a sustainable alternative to fossil kerosene, SAF is expected to become the main lever for decarbonizing air transport in the coming years. The context is favorable in Europe, the United States and elsewhere in the world, with many airlines and governments addressing the issue with targets and incentives. The aim is to stimulate the production and use of sustainable aviation fuels to drastically reduce emissions from the sector and thus contribute to the achievement of global carbon neutrality objectives.

In the European Union, the ReFuel Aviation proposal foresees that the share of SAF in airports will increase from 2% in 2025, to 6% in 2030, 20% in 2035, 34% in 2040, 42% in 2045 and 70% in 2050. In the United States, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) introduces even more ambitious targets: 10% by 2030 and 100% by 2050. To achieve these ambitious targets all SAF production technologies must be deployed.

Haffner Energy, a player in the energy transition for 30 years, designs and supplies innovative decarbonation solutions for the mobility, industry and local authority sectors via its patented technologies SYNOCA® and HYNOCA® based on the thermolysis of biomass. Its SYNOCA®) technology is ideal for the production of SAF. This development is fully in line with the company's commitment to climate responsibility.
