The Los Angeles-based bank said it had earnings of 61 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 60 cents per share.

The bank holding company posted revenue of $103.9 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $59.8 million, which missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $63.4 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $80 million, or $2.62 per share. Revenue was reported as $255.5 million.
