HONOLULU, May 7, 2024 - Hawaiian Electric crews will replace a pole along Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa on Thursday, May 9, requiring a partial lane closure that will impact traffic in the area from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The work will close a section of the southbound lane of Kamehameha Hwy. just past Haleiwa Town Center fronting the Waialua Court House. Traffic will be contraflowed in the northbound lane and parking restricted in the work area. Access to driveways and buildings where crews are working will remain open and TheBus route may be altered to accommodate bus riders. Special duty police and flagmen will provide traffic control and assistance.
Safety signs and traffic cones will mark the work zone and guide motorists to the contraflow lane. Motorists are advised to drive with caution when approaching and passing the crews at work, anticipate traffic delays or plan alternate routes when possible.
