Offenbach am Main/Germany - With a webinar broadcast live from Düsseldorf's Fritz-Henkel-Haus, the Bodo Möller Chemie Group continues the successful seminar and webinar TechDialog series. On October 6, starting at 10 am, the webinar titled "Pretreatments of the latest generation - lower energy costs in the metal industry" covers modern methods to achieve higher efficiency and flexibility with the Adhesion Promoter No Rinse process, in cooperation with Henkel Adhesive Technologies. A second session at 11 am focuses on energy savings with modern nanoceramic conversion coatings from the BONDERITE® product family. The free TechDialog webinar is intended for the metal processing industry, manufacturers and coaters of the sector.

Energy-saving metal processing

"In view of the worldwide crises, companies are currently exploring all options to save energy. Whereas companies send their employees to short-time work or cut down on production, we want to show industrial methods aimed at reducing energy demand that are nonetheless able to maintain high production quality," says Bernhard Vreden, Key Account Manager at Bodo Möller Chemie and moderator of both sessions. The modernization of production with minimal effort is therefore an alternative for many companies. This includes the retrofitting of the pretreatment process of iron/zinc phosphatizing to new generation coatings, among them the APNR process. The economical Adhesion Promoter No Rinse process not only saves energy but also increases the corrosion protection of metal pretreatments with less generated waste. At the end of the pretreatment process, the BONDERITE® adhesion promoter or conversion coating is nebulized on the parts and therefore no longer needs to be rinsed afterwards - this saved process step saves energy and resources. By means of practical examples, the half-hour webinar shows how the process (offered by Henkel since 2017) can be implemented.

Nanoceramic conversion coatings

The second session focuses on the products of the BONDERITE® series M-NT with nanotechnology and on C-AK, which serve as degreasers, and that can also be used in a low-temperature process. The webinar also deals with solutions for optimal drying and the temperature needed for the subsequent process steps. The experts in the studio, which was especially set up for the event, show the processes in a practical test and offer their help to all participants who have their own production challenges. "In addition to environmental protection and due to the current situation, saving energy is also a priority. Processes that work with low temperature actively save energy, the phosphate-free products have versatile uses for ferrous metals, aluminum or zinc, thus shortening expensive setup times. The subsequent paint adhesion and corrosion protection are optimized. When the baths must be disposed of, the costs are likewise lower because the sludge discharge is significantly less," explains Andreas Moser, Director of Growth & Globalization at the Bodo Möller Chemie Group.
