The Indian MoD has approved the purchase of 106 HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL).

The new basic trainers ordered by the Indian Air Force (IAF) will be fitted with Mk.16 Ejection Seats, adding a further 212 Martin-Baker Seats to the 1,013 Seats already in service in the IAF and Indian Navy.

The IAF has also recently placed orders for additional Tejas aircraft, also fitted with Martin-Baker Mk.16 Seats due for future delivery.

Martin-Baker has a longstanding relationship with India, one of our largest customers, with 62 years of saving Indian lives and 230 Indian lives saved to date in a Martin-Baker Ejection Seat.

When deliveries of the new HTT-40 and LCA Tejas aircraft are complete, the IAF and Navy will be operating over 1,300 Martin-Baker Seats in more than 750 aircraft.
