Hindustan Zinc Limited reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was INR 59,580 million compared to INR 55,330 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 64,330 million compared to INR 60,500 million a year ago. Net income was INR 20,170 million compared to INR 19,400 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 4.77 compared to INR 4.59 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 4.77 compared to INR 4.59 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was INR 123,360 million compared to INR 94,310 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 133,130 million compared to INR 107,230 million a year ago. Net income was INR 40,000 million compared to INR 32,990 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 9.47 compared to INR 7.81 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 9.47 compared to INR 7.81 a year ago.

The Company produces zinc, lead, silver, commercial power and alloys. Its segments include Zinc, Lead, Silver & others and Wind energy. Its operations include five zinc-lead mines, four zinc smelters, one lead smelter, one zinc-lead smelter, eight sulfuric acid plants, one silver refinery plant, six captive thermal power plants and four captive solar plants in the state of Rajasthan. In addition, the Company also has a rock-phosphate mine in Matoon, near Udaipur in Rajasthan and zinc, lead, silver processing and refining facilities in the state of Uttarakhand. The Company also has wind power plants in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra and solar power plants in the state of Rajasthan.
