Shimadzu and HORIBA to Collaborate on Development and Sales of LC-Raman Analytical and Measuring Instruments

Shimadzu Corporation and HORIBA, Ltd. concluded a basic agreement to commence collaboration on the development and sales of LC-Raman analytical and measuring instruments that combine Shimadzu's high-performance liquid chromatographs (HPLCs, hereinafter LCs) with HORIBA's Raman spectrometers. The two companies will combine their powerful technologies to support new developments in medicine and health care, life sciences, materials research, the environment and new energy, and various other fields.
HORIBA,Ltd. is a Japan-based company engaged in the manufacture and sale of measuring instruments. The Company operates in five business segments. The Automotive Test System Equipment segment is engaged in the provision of engine exhaust gas measuring devices, driveline test systems, engine test systems, brake test systems and other products. The Environmental and Process System Equipment segment is engaged in the provision of flue gas analyzers, water quality measuring devices, air pollution monitoring analyzers and other products. The Medical System Equipment segment is engaged in the provision of blood cell counting devices, immunoassay devices and other products.
