COPENHAGEN, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Electrolux said on Wednesday that it had proposed Torbjorn Loof as its new board chair at the Swedish company's 2024 annual general meeting.

Europe's biggest home appliances maker said earlier in October that the current chair of its board, Staffan Bohman, had declined re-election in 2024.

Loof is currently a board member of several Swedish companies, including Husqvarna, Essity Aktiebolag and Blaklader, as well as being a board member of Mercer International, Electrolux said in a statement.

He has previously also held several senior management positions in IKEA, Electrolux added. (Reporting by Louise Breusch Rasmussen; Editing by Alexander Smith)
