IDBI Bank inaugurates 'Security Operations Centre (SOC)'

Mumbai, 30 November, 2015: IDBI Bank, as per its internal Information Security Policy, is committed to provide safe & secure banking services to its customers. In order to further strengthen the commitment, the Bank has set up a state-of-the-art Security Operations Centre (SOC) at its Data Centre, Belapur, Navi Mumbai. On the Information Security Day i.e. November 30, 2015, Bank's SOC was inaugurated by Shri Kishor Kharat, MD & CEO in the presence of Shri B. K. Batra, DMD and other senior officials of the Bank and its IT subsidiary viz. IDBI Intech Ltd.

Speaking on the occasion, MD & CEO Shri Kishor Kharat commented 'This Security Operations Centre demonstrates the ability of IDBI Bank to anticipate, detect and control the digital security risks for effective and sustainable cyber defense.' He also highlighted the importance of information security in Banks due to heightened security threats emerging both on domestic and international fronts. The need for setting up such a Centre has gained more importance recently as banking industry is actively encouraging movement from paper transactions to electronic transactions.

Through the SOC, the Bank will centrally monitor security devices like Firewalls, Routers, IDS/IPS, PIM, DLP, Antivirus, Phishing/Malware attempts and take corrective actions, in shortest span of time. The SOC will be a Command Centre for countering cyber threats and ensure Compliance with the Bank's Information Security Policy besides fulfilling the Bank's objective of providing safe and secure Banking to its esteemed customers.
