Lokstadt Hallen fully let: Swiss Casinos is coming to Winterthur

Glattpark (Opfikon), 2 December 2021 - Last Wednesday, 24 November, Swiss Casinos signed the lease agreement for Halle Rapide. This means that all 8,200 m2 of Lokstadt Hallen's floor space has now been let.

Swiss Casinos is planning on using the 2,600 m2 space in Lokstadt to run the most state-of-the-art and cosmopolitan casino in Switzerland. The "Loki" - a futuristic-looking wooden structure - is being set up in Halle Rapide for this purpose. The buildings' historical character is being preserved and it will remain open to the public. Marc Baumann, CEO of Swiss Casinos: "In collaboration with Ina Invest and the Radisson RED hotel, we will ensure that the site is given a new lease of life with the concourse serving as a social space featuring attractions such as food stalls or small bars." Marc Pointet, CEO of Ina Invest, thinks the casino will be the perfect addition to Lokstadt: "The place where locomotive history was once made will soon be providing accommodation and entertainment and hosting celebrations and casino games in its unique industrial setting. With its versatile and attractive mix of uses, this new district in Winterthur holds all the aces for establishing itself as the ultimate place to be and a shining example of sustainable, hybrid real estate."

The building application for the new casino will be submitted in 2022, with a view to beginning operations in 2025.
