(Alliance News) - Induction Healthcare Group PLC on Tuesday said it signed three new patient portal development contracts with the National Health Service, worth GBP1.4 million in total.

Shares in the London-based software provider surged up 14% to 18.30 pence in London on Tuesday.

Induction Healthcare, which serves healthcare providers and administrators, said the largest contract with the South West London Integrated Care Board is worth GBP577,000 and covers several projects utilising Induction's Zesty patient portal platforms.

Induction said these projects will "deepen [its] bespoke integration with Oracle Health to enable data to be written back to the hospital system, reducing the data processing administrative burden" face by NHS trusts.

Another contract with the North Central London Integrated Care System, covering three trusts and worth GBP486,000, should allow patients to view diagnostic appointment details and launch video consultations through the Zesty portal.

The third contract, worth GBP346,000, will see the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust working with Induction on several patient portal projects. These will include use of Induction's Form Builder module to support the NHS's Patient Initiated Follow Up initiative, which it says is "vital in reducing the backlog."

Induction added that it will work with Royal Free London and other customers to provide the first NHS-accredited portal to digitise prenatal records and ensure their accessibility for pregnant patients.

"These development and supply contracts demonstrate Induction's growing traction in the patient platform market as we work with the NHS to give patients more choice in how their care is managed," commented Chief Executive Officer Paul Tambeau. "It also validates our strategy of integrating our Attend Anywhere video consultation and our Zesty patient portal platforms.

"These contracts also allow Induction to introduce new appointment types and to further deepen our technical integration with partners."
