TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 27, 2012) - Inmet Mining Corporation ("Inmet") (TSX:IMN) is pleased to announce that Gerald W. Grandey was elected to Inmet's Board of Directors at its annual general meeting of shareholders today.

Mr. Grandey is the former Chief Executive Officer of Saskatoon-based Cameco Corporation. Mr. Grandey has a degree in geophysical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a law degree from Northwestern University.

Mr. Grandey is a director of Canadian Oil Sands Limited, Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan, and Sandspring Resources Limited. He also serves on the Dean's Advisory Council of the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business and the Board of Governors of the Colorado School of Mines Foundation.
