The certification called 'Road to Gold' will ensure IAG's repairers are kept up to date through practical training in repair technology and design knowledge over the course of 12-18 months.

'Road to Gold' will ensure IAG's motor repair network continues to deliver the highest quality repair experience for customers through education and professional development.

Steve Bubulj, Head of National Supply Chain for IAG said 'We are proud to be the first and only insurer in Australia to have attained I-CAR Gold Class Insurer status. It is a natural next step for our partner repairers to embark on the I-CAR Gold Class program to ensure we stay up to date with industry advancements and training.

'The initiative is driven by our shared commitment to repair our customers' vehicles under an innovative and up to date program.'

I-CAR CEO Mark Czvitkovits added 'For the repairers in the IAG network, I-CAR will provide specific training paths consistent with their roles.'

'The training will cover new technology, OEM specific and hands on training courses and will deliver the 'I-CAR vision' that every technician has the knowledge and skills to perform a complete and safe repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.'

I-CAR, an industry based not-for-profit organisation, provides ongoing post-qualification upskilling opportunities to the collision repair industry, through a range of education and professional development programs specifically for the smash repair trade.
