Today, it's hard to read an article, scroll on social media, or even watch a string of TV commercials without a reference to climate change. This increased attention on the topic presents an opportunity for all global citizens to reflect upon climate action, and a challenge to find ways to do more. At IFF, this conversation is always top of mind. We believe that companies play a critical role in addressing the climate emergency, reducing GHGs and helping to safeguard life on our planet. At IFF, we do this by taking a leadership role in the mobilization of wider industry action, and by setting an example through our strategy and performance.

It has been almost a year since the launch IFF's Do More Good Plan, the bold commitment of our new combined company to Do More Good for people and planet. The plan's four strategic pillars - sustainable solutions, climate & planetary health, equity & wellbeing and transparency & accountability - provide a framework for the ways we are contributing to sustainable development and illustrate how we are managing our impact on the economy, environment and people.

The plan sets long-term goals for 2030 and beyond. Specifically, the plan addresses IFF's climate ambition to be Net Zero by 2040, with interim goals to reduce operational-based emission by 50% from our 2021 baseline. Driven by the urgent need to protect the planet for future generations, we are doubling down on dedicated energy and water efficiency programs, expanding our use of renewable energy and innovating our products to shrink their environmental footprint by embedding a circular mindset.

The Do More Good Plan isn't just some corporate initiative. It's embedded in who we are. Across our global footprint, at each IFF manufacturing site our employee-led Green Teams demonstrate a passion for sustainability and drive grassroots-level change. Green Teams track, measure, and report on their environmental performance metrics, while driving improved environmental performance through eco-effectiveness projects. Globally, Green Teams connect through outreach, training opportunities and a dedicated online platform to collaborate. Through this structure, IFFers are empowered to take responsibility for minimizing the footprint of their own facilities, while benefiting from the resources and knowledge of other sites. This autonomy allows each site to focus on the projects that will result in the most significant environmental improvements. We're excited to share some of the site-level Green Team success stories throughout the year.

The sustainable development challenges we all face cannot be tackled alone, so IFF is focused on partnering with our customers and other stakeholders along the value chain to support the radical shifts needed to make a positive impact. We continue to question, explore and create. Our business divisions develop essential solutions that enable our customers to do more good.
