Kennedy Space Center Conversion to Multi-User Spaceport

Jacobs operates the NASA KSC launch complex and Payload Processing Facilities for programs such as the SLS, ISS, EGS, Orion, and various commercial launch services programs.

  • 2012 - P&PS develops Master Plan for converting KSC into a Multi-User Spaceport

  • 2013 - Jacobs awarded Test Operations Support Contract

  • 2013 - Day One of TOSC Jacobs successfully supported the SpaceX-2 commercial resupply launch and post-launch processing

  • 2015 - Orb-3 Cygnus failure at Wallops created requirement for interim launch facility. Jacobs expedites launch processing at KSC supporting successful launch of Cygnus OA-4 within six months (nominal process is two years)

  • 2016 - Won contract with commercial space OEM to develop, qualify, and fabricate Thermal Protection System tiles for a utility space vehicle using KSC facilities

  • 2017 - KSC asks Jacobs to assume responsibility for the Spaceport Command & Control System (SCCS), a critical EGS infrastructure element required for the Artemis mission
