Janome Sewing Machine Co., Ltd. has introduced a quilting machine with the bed space of a top-of-the-line model at a mid-range price. The new Horizon Memory Craft 8200 QC not only has 11" of workspace to the right of the needle, it has 9 mm stitch width, and is compatible with Janome's patented AcuFeed Flex(TM) fabric feeding system. Big quilts have long seams, making a standard machine operating at 600 stitches per minute feel slow.

The MC8200 can run at up to 850 stitches per minute on a straight stitch. And quilters can relax their pedal foot by using the Start/Stop button. The MC8200 has the option of using the patented AcuFeed Flex(TM) fabric feeding system.

This quilting breakthrough ensures even the thickest, multi-layer quilt moves under the needle with precision and ease. When it's not being used, the system is easily removed. The machine has a 9 mm stitch width.

More than 25% larger than 7 mm stitching, 9 mm zigzag and applique stitches are wider and decorative stitches are more dramatic. This width also gives the AcuFeed Flex(TM) fabric feeding system a wider stance for better traction. The MC8200 comes with 120 built-in stitches, including many 9 mm options, 11 buttonholes, and an alphabet.

Stitch selection is quick and easy using the 10 Direct Select keys. A straight stitch needle plate is another quilting essential. The MC8200's needle plate switches from Standard to Straight Stitch in seconds.

One finger pops out one plate, then snaps in the next. The MC8200 has a long list of other quilting features: an adjustable knee lift, Needle Up/Down with Down as the default setting, an automatic thread cutter, and an optional magnifier that swings into place over the needle area. The MC8200 is available in the USA only at authorized Janome dealers.
