Japan Tobacco Inc. Announces Changes of Executive Officers

Japan Tobacco Inc. announced the Board of Directors' resolution concerning the company's new executive appointments. Newly appointed executive officers include Shiroji Maeda Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, Tobacco Business; Kenji Ogura Senior Vice President, Head of Leaf Procurement Group, Tobacco Business; Takanori Kikuchi Senior Vice President, General Affairs. The company announced resignation of Yasushi Hasegawa and Goichi Matsuda currently Senior Vice President. Executive Officers with change in responsibilities include: Chito Sasaki Senior Vice President, President, Japanese Tobacco Business, Tobacco Business; Koji Shimayoshi Senior Vice President, Head of Tobacco Business Planning Division, Tobacco Business; Kiyohide Hirowatari Senior Vice President, Human Resources.
Japan Tobacco Inc. specializes in manufacturing and marketing of tobacco products. The group's products include primarily cigarettes, cigars, chewing and snuff tobaccos. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- sale of tobacco products overseas (66%): 460 billion products sold in 2021, under the brands Winston, Camel, Silk Cut, Sobranie, Glamour, etc.;
- sale of tobacco products in Japan (24.1%): 67 billion products sold under the brands Cabin Prestige, Seven Stars, Pianissimo, Mild Seven, etc.;
- distribution of food products (6.3%);
- development of pharmaceutical products (3.5%): primarily for dyslipidemia, osteoporosis and Hepatitis C treatment;
- other (0.1%).
68.5% of net sales are abroad.
