JPMorgan Taps Equity Syndicate Co-Head for Asia Pacific

JPMorgan Chase & Co. has tapped Phil Wong as the co-head of Asia-Pacific equity syndicate, effective Jan. 1, according to an announcement viewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Wong, who joined the bank in June 2019, will serve alongside Aditi Varghese. Mr. Wong and Ms. Varghese will work out of Hong Kong and report to Luiz de Salvo, the firm's global head of equity syndicate, the announcement said.

The announcement was confirmed by a JPMorgan spokeswoman.

Mr. Wong's appointment comes as market volatility has weighed on deal volumes this year. Global IPO volumes have fallen 72% this year to $164.3 billion, according to Dealogic.
