Koki Tanabe, president of Kappa Create Co., resigned from the post following his arrest last week. Tanabe was arrested Friday on suspicion of fraudulently obtaining the trade secrets of a rival sushi restaurant chain in violation of the unfair competition prevention law. Kappa Create said that it has accepted Tanabe's offer to resign.

Tsuyoshi Yamakado, a member of the company's board of directors, replaced Tanabe as president.
