Kaveri Seed Company Limited announced earnings results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2020. For the second quarter, the company announced total revenue was INR 1,444.784 million compared to INR 1,204.663 million a year ago. Net income was INR 234.62 million compared to INR 136.307 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 3.95 compared to INR 2.16 a year ago. For the half year, total revenue was INR 8,874.716 million compared to INR 7,521.834 million a year ago. Net income was INR 3,187.512 million compared to INR 2,432.092 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 53.62 compared to INR 38.53 a year ago.
Kaveri Seed Company Limited is an India-based agricultural company. The Company specializes in hybrid seeds. The product portfolio of the Company consists of a range of high yielding seeds in field crops, such as maize, cotton, rice, pearl millet, mustard, wheat, sorghum, pulses, bajra, wheat, sunflower, and other vegetable crops, which includes tomatoes, okra, chilies, watermelon, gourds and brinjal. The Company sells its product under the brand name Kaveri. The Company owns seven modern seed processing and storage plants across various locations in India. The Company has approximately 100000 acres under seed production spread across different agro-climatic regions. The Company operates in the domestic market as well as in the exports market which includes Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Vietnam.
