WMATA 7000-Series Trains in Service Operation (Update)
On September 2, 2022 (U.S. time), the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) announced that up to 20 of its 7000-series trains (160 cars) manufactured by Kawasaki Rail Car, Inc., up from the current limit of eight trains (64 cars) will return to service on September 12, 2022.
