DMG Mori Co., Ltd. (TSE:6141) and DMG MORI Europe Holding GmbH entered into a contract to acquire KURAKI Co., Ltd. from Kurabo Industries Ltd. (TSE:3106) for ¥4.5 billion on September 6, 2023. As per the transaction, DMG Mori Co., Ltd. will acquire 12,715,033 shares and DMG MORI Europe will acquire 3,178,758 shares of KURAKI Co., Ltd. As of March 20, 2023, KURAKI Co., Ltd. generated sales of ¥6 billion and operating profit of ¥2 billion. The transaction is expected to close on October 31, 2023. As on October 25, 2023, the transaction is expected to complete by December 31, 2023. As of December 19, 2023, the terms of deal revised to ¥4 billion. As of December 19, 2023, the transaction is expected to complete on January 5, 2024.

KURABO INDUSTRIES LTD. is primarily engaged in the manufacture of textiles and chemicals. The Textile segment manufactures and sells threads, fabrics, textile, non-woven fabrics, knits, reinforced nets and secondary textile products, as well as the staining, arrangement and processing of synthetic fabrics. The Chemical segment manufactures and sells polyurethane foam, synthetic lumber, inorganic construction materials, functional film and high functional and engineering plastics, among others. The Real Estate segment is engaged in the leasing of real estate. The Environmental Mechatronics segment manufactures and sells information system equipment and inspection and measurement systems related to color and production management, designs, produces, constructs and sells various plants related to the environment and energy, manufactures biomass power generation business and bio-related products. The Food and Service segment engages in the manufacture and sales of freeze-dried foods.
