Palestine, Texas (June 26, 2017) - Palestine Regional Medical Center (PRMC) announced today that Roy Finch has been named chief executive officer (CEO), effective August 2. Finch joins PRMC from Northern Louisiana Medical Center (NLMC), a 165-bed facility in Ruston, Louisiana, where he most recently served as CEO.

'We are so excited to have Roy step into this important leadership role,' said Brad Owens, chief operating officer (COO) of LifePoint Health's Western Group. 'He is a strong leader with an extensive background in hospital leadership. We are particularly impressed with his commitment to and success in building a strong culture of safety and engagement - one that is intently focused on continuously improving quality and the overall patient experience.'

As CEO of NLMC, Finch implemented a new cultural program that placed the focus of all employees, medical staff and volunteers on improving the patient experience. Through this program, the hospital's overall patient satisfaction rating increased 32 percentile points in just one year. He also drove improvements in clinical education and recruitment, helped boost physician satisfaction, led significant growth in volumes and implemented numerous process improvements in areas such as emergency care and productivity.

'The local Board of Trustees of Palestine Regional Medical Center feels Roy is a great fit for our hospital,' said Dan Davis, Chairman. 'We are very impressed with his leadership skills and background, as well as his genuine care for people. As a native of Tyler, Texas, he understands East Texas values and will relate well with our patients, staff and the community. We look forward to working with him to lead our hospital forward and accomplish our primary goal of providing the best healthcare possible for our community.'

Prior to his most recent position, Finch served in numerous healthcare leadership roles, including as COO, assistant administrator and administrative specialist at Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview, Texas, and administrative specialist at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center in Cedar Park, Texas. Before beginning his career in healthcare, Finch spent five years as a lead software engineer for USAA, a fortune 200 financial services company in San Antonio.

'Palestine Regional Medical Center is such an important part of this community,' said Finch, 'and I am really excited to take on this new role and join this great team of employees and providers. I look forward to building on the strong foundation that already exists and helping the leadership team continue to advance the hospital's mission of Making Communities Healthier.'

Finch holds a bachelor's degree in information and operations management from Texas A&M University in College Station and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, and he was previously a certified pharmacy technician. Finch has received numerous awards and honors, including selection as the inaugural recipient of the Paul E. Golliher Health Care Administration Fellowship Award, and has been an active member of each community he has served. He is also an Eagle Scout.

Finch will relocate to East Texas with his wife, Audrey, their 15-month-old son, Carter, and a second son who they will welcome in October.
