Lighting Science Group Corporation announced with New York Design Week upon us, don’t miss the truly ground-breaking new products by Lighting Science that will be on display at WantedDesign at the Terminal Building from May 13-16. Lighting Science, the LED innovators, are debuting two new products for the Wanted audience, the Series A+ and the Genesis DynaSpectrum. The Series A+ Offers Designers Energy Efficiency and Greater Control Over the Built Environment: The Series A+ is a high-performance, specification-grade family of lamps designed for discerning lighting clients. In addition to providing superior dimming compatibility and the high CRI possible, the Series A+ also boasts low power consumption and long life, surpassing Energy Star and California Energy Commission requirements. From commercial and retail environments to restaurants, hotels and art galleries, the Series A+ color rendering will enhance colors in any setting. For lighting designers everywhere, the Series A+ opens up a new set of tools that give greater control over mastering the built environment. The Genesis DynaSpectrum: The First Commercially-Available Luminaire Designed to Enhance Both Sleep and Productivity: Also debuting at Wanted is the Genesis DynaSpectrum (Genesis). Unlike traditional incandescent and LED lighting, Genesis emits the appropriate spectrum of light necessary to regulate the body’s natural circadian rhythm 24/7. With optimal health in mind, Lighting Science developed Genesis, which dynamically changes between Lighting Science’s biological LED spectrums, the GoodDay - which enhances natural energy and focus - and the GoodNight - which promotes a healthy and restorative sleep. The technology is derived from Lighting Science’s work with NASA on the International Space Station where light spectrum was used to help regulate circadian rhythms for astronauts who were experiencing 16 sunrises and sunsets every 24 hours. Everyone from professional athletes to corporations to individuals can enjoy the many health benefits of appropriate light spectrum. Controlled via easy-to-use app, Genesis can be programmed to deliver the right light spectrum anywhere in the world—or the universe. As currently designed, Genesis makes an ideal desk or bedside table lamp. Because the lamp’s technology engine is located in its base, however, it provides flexibility for creative new form factors and applications. Lighting Science encourages designers excited about this breakthrough technology to partner them to design and integrate around the DynaSpectr light engine.
