Leading UK placemaker, United Living Group is driven by its purpose of working together to inspire better ways of creating the places, communities and businesses of tomorrow,

It works to encourage and educate young people about careers in the placemaking and infrastructure environments, and to encourage more of them into the industry.

In recognition of its work, United Living Group has been presented a Mentoring Excellence award from South Thames College. The award recognises the work and support provided to students over several years at Merton, Carshalton and South Thames Colleges.

Students who are part of the South Thames Colleges Group have been provided work experience placements in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drylining, bricklaying, plastering, and business.

A highlighted project was Rhodes Moorhouse Court in Merton, which provided over sixty construction students from Merton College and Carshalton College with experience on a live and busy building site along with invaluable career-boosting skills.

Stella Raphael-Reeves, Assistant Principal, South Thames College, said: 'The feedback from our students has been excellent, and they have praised the support and the direction they have received as truly life-changing. This is an extremely well-deserved award.'

Warren Lubin, Community Development Manager at United Living New Homes, currently mentors seven electrical students from Merton College.

Farhan Mohamed, Project Manager, United Living New Homes, said: 'The work experience for college students from Merton and Carshalton College, which we started at Rhodes Moorhouse Court and are continuing at St Peters Hospital with Brooklands College, has helped a lot of students gain first-hand site exposure.

'Warren Lubin has been involved from the start when we approached the college with this idea and has continued the excellent work by mentoring students. This Mentoring Excellence award from South Thames Colleges Group cements our relationship with the colleges and is an outstanding achievement.

'All of us involved are extremely proud of this award and will continue in our efforts to mentor the next generation of construction professionals.'
