Latest technology on smallest space, mobile and rugged - that's the new Fieldbook A2 from LOGIC INSTRUMENT. Among the many practical features, in addition to the rain-, dust- and drop-proof housing, GPS, 4G, NFC and a barcode scanner are integrated. The 7" Outdoor-Tablet PC is suited to many types of missions: from mobile ticketing through navigation and maintenance to mobile identity checks by police and security forces.

Convice with inner values

The Fieldbook A2 is equipped with a new dual-core Atom processor and relies on fast DDR3 memory. Therefore, even demanding data processing tasks aren't a big deal for the rugged outdoor tablet PC. The Fieldbook A2 (FBA2) relies on SSD storage chips without any mechanical components for protecting saved data up to 64 GB in the standard version and 128 GB as option. On top of this, the FBA2 features ultra fast data transmission capabilities with it's 4G (LTE)-, Bluetooth 4.0- and Wi-Fi draft n module.  The rugged tablet pc also supports Wi-Fi - WWAN auto-switching. USB, RS232 and Gigabit Ethernet are available for wired data transfers. Thus, the FBA2 can quickly access various data networks.

New application possibilities through geo-tagging and NFC

Featuring a LED flashlight, the Fieldbook's 5-megapixel camera wont let you down even in difficult lightning conditions. Through the integrated GPS module, the tablet PC adds the appropriate location data to the jpeg-file - the so-called geo-tagging feature.

In addition, the Fieldbook Outdoor-Tablet PC can be equipped with a high-performance barcode scanner, which can be triggered quick and easily by a programmable hardware button, and a RFID reader working with the NFC protocol. Therefore, the FBA2 is ready for future applications like mobile payment, access control or ticketing application.

Sunlight readability and improved battery life

The rugged magnesium alloy housing meets the usual high standard of LOGIC INSTRUMENT and the compact design fits perfectly in the hand. The IP65-certified housing keeps water and dust away from the interior. Even when using this rugged Tablet PC on a boat, salt fog doesn't harm the unit. The Fieldbook A2 withstands drops from 1.5 m (60") height, vibrations, shocks, as well as high and low temperatures in accordance to the MIL-STD810G standard.

The new 7" touchscreen display can easily be read in direct sunlight and is covered with tempered glass, which supports the direct drop of a steel ball on it. A built-in ambient light sensor helps to save energy by adjusting the display brightness automatically to the lighting conditions.

The improved dual 5200mAh battery pack keeps the tablet running up to 8 hours. By deploying a dual-battery pack, the batteries are hot swappable be changed without turning off the Fieldbook.

Wide range of accessories

In the accessories program there are, for example, a dual-bay battery charger and a X-Shut free-hand carrying system. In addition there are several mounting and docking solution for office or vehicle use. The new version Fieldbook supports a "Docking Power On"-feature, which boots automatically the Fieldbook when the docking is powered on. This feature is specially developed for emergency vehicles.
