CLEVELAND and BARCELONA, Spain, March 29, 2012 - The Lubrizol Corporation and Merquinsa will both be located at booth #35004 at the NPE 2012 international plastics exposition. Together, these leaders in polymer technology will be promoting bio-based resins formulated from renewable materials, with bio content from 20% up to 90% according to ASTM D6866. The Bio TPU by Merquinsa® portfolio demonstrates the same thermal, chemical and hydrolysis resistance as standard polyester TPU grades and has been tested in the sports and recreation, electronics and transportation industries. The Pearlthane® ECO product line will be featured at the show.

Combining Merquinsa's portfolio with Lubrizol's bio-based products, Lubrizol Engineered Polymers can offer bio-based polyester TPUs that range in hardness from 70 Shore A to 55 Shore D with renewable material content ranging from approximately 24% - 80% according to ASTM D6866. These resins may be processed using injection molding and extrusion.

Commenting on its bio-based product line, Rocco Mango, vice president, Engineered Polymers, stated "Lubrizol is committed to improving environmental performance and focusing on sustainability, including supporting initiatives to decrease dependency on synthetic materials.
