Malaysia Steel Works (KL) Bhd. announced the appointment of Datuk Syed Mohamed Bin Syed Ibrahim as Independent and Non Executive Chairman. Age 65, Date of change 01 March 2024.

Qualifications Degree Economics (Honours) in Analytical Economics University Malaya, Working experience and occupation Datuk Syed Mohamed Bin Syed Ibrahim ("Datuk Syed Mohamed") has extensive experience and expertise in banking, corporate, real estate development, technology and business strategy. He began his career at Bank Bumiputera (M) Bhd and Bank Rakyat before joining the Johor State Economic Development Corporation - the predecessor of Johor Corporation. He then joined DRB-Hicom Berhad as Group Director, where he led business transformation teams for the groups property development, hospitality and leisure, construction and facility management portfolios.

Prior to joining Johor Corporation, Datuk Syed Mohamed served as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President at Knowledge Economic City in Medina, Saudi Arabia, where he led strategy and business development. He also served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Iskandar Investment Berhad. During his leadership as Chief Executive Officer of TH Properties Sdn Bhd, he made significant achievements in advocating sustainable growth in revenue and profits for the company, namely with its landmark project of Bandar Baru Enstek, a smart township property development in Negeri Sembilan.

He also led Encorp Group Sdn Bhd in Corporate Planning and Properties after 7 years at Sime Darby, where he led the company's Property Division as General Manager. Currently, Datuk Syed Mohamed is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Johor Corporation and also the Chairman of Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Berhad and KPJ Healthcare University respectively.
