Matrix Composites & Engineering is pleased to announce it has achieved independent approval for the design and manufacture of its Distributed Buoyancy Module and Internal Clamp. The type approval covers design and manufactured to, to the American Petroleum Institute's (API) 17L1 & 17L2: 2nd edition, June 2021 for ancillary equipment for flexible pipes and subsea umbilicals.

The type approval certificate was awarded by Bureau Veritas after a comprehensive review of Matrix's design methodology, manufacturing process and testing regime. Verification and validation testing was witnessed at Matrix's Henderson Subsea Test Facility in Western Australia, the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
