ME Group International PLC, a London-based provider of vending machines, photobooths, printing kiosks and equipment services, has acquired the automated-photobooth business owned and operated by two subsidiaries of Fujifilm Corp. in Japan for a total consideration of approximately £5.3 million ($6.44 million), with conditions precedent to the acquisition having been fulfilled, with Japanese Yen 906 million ($6.05 million) payable at closing.

This acquisition by ME Group's Japan subsidiary, ME Group Japan K.K., adds a further 3,548 photobooths to the group's operations in Japan. The acquired units are located in travel hubs and shopping centers throughout Japan.

The acquisition brings the total number of photobooths operated by the company in Japan to more than 15,100, increasing the group's Asia Pacific revenue by 20% to 30% and adding approximately £2.2 million ($2.67 million) in profit before tax in the year ending Oct. 31, 2024.

The group operates vending units across 19 countries consisting of the following four areas:

  • Photo.Me: Photobooths and integrated biometric identification solutions.
  • Wash.Me: Unattended laundry services and launderettes.
  • Print.Me: Digital printing kiosks.
  • Feed.Me: Vending equipment for the foodservice market.
