Upon advice of the nomination and remuneration committee, the board of directors of Melexis NV decided today to co-opt Ms. Martine Baelmans as new independent director until the next general meeting of shareholders, which will evaluate this appointment. 

Ms. Baelmans will replace as independent director Ms. Lina Sarro whose independent mandate has expired after a term of 11 years. The board of directors wishes to thank Ms. Lina Sarro for her valuable contribution to Melexis over the past years.

The new director, Ms. Baelmans, is professor at the faculty for engineering sciences of the Catholic University of Leuven. With this appointment Melexis wishes to keep its strong connection with the academic world. Moreover the gender balance in the board of directors remains intact.
