Memscap announces that it has been awarded a major innovation project by the Norwegian Research Council. Called STEGMA, this three-year program aims to develop a cutting-edge technological platform for stacking pressure sensor chips.

Through this project, and by integrating its pressure chips into a wider variety of medical products, Memscap's ultimate aim is to broaden its product portfolio and increase the size of its addressable markets.

For example, newborn respirators require high precision over a narrow, low pressure measurement range, due to the low flow rate of air exhaled by infants', says the company.
