Clermont-Ferrand, 16 November 2021 - (FR0004177046 METEX), METabolic EXplorer (METEX), a leader in industrial fermentation for the production of natural-origin ingredients for animal nutrition, cosmetics and biopolymer markets, is reviewing the business activity of its industrial subsidiary METEX NØØVISTA located in Carling St-Avold in the Moselle department of France.

Following the detection of an operational discrepancy in a distillation unit, METEX announced on 16 September 2021 that it was suspending production at the plant so that the teams could carry out the work required to resolve the issue of heat exchanger scaling.

The work performed to rapidly resume production at the site has produced results. The stabilisation level attained in early November, at around 40% of total capacity, allowed us to resume deliveries of PDO to DSM for the cosmetics market on Wednesday 10 December, consistent with the market plan.

In a further source of satisfaction for the Group, METEX NØØVISTA also completed the initial delivery of its natural-origin butyric acid derivative to its partner ALINOVA for the French animal nutrition market.

As a reminder, the METEX NØØVISTA plant is the only plant in Europe to produce natural-origin PDO and BA via fermentation for the cosmetics, animal nutrition and biosourced chemicals markets.
