Tokyo-MITSUBISHI MOTORS CORPORATION (MMC) held an opening ceremony on September 24 for a children's library and meeting center that the company helped construct in the City of Ternate, North Maluku Province of Indonesia.

In addition to contributing three million yen of company and employee donations*1 for the construction project, MMC also partnered with World Vision Japan (WVJ), an international non-governmental organization, to build the facility through cooperation with the local government and the community.

'I am here to represent the community to give our utmost appreciation and gratitude to Mitsubishi Motors, who have helped us to fulfill our dream to open a child-friendly center in the city of Ternate,' said Hamid Muhammad, the head of Takome Subdistrict of Ternate, at the opening ceremony*2. 'Along with the development of technology, we hope that children will take advantage of this facility so that they grow creative, innovative, and visionary in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0.'

Takao Kato, chief executive officer of MMC, said, 'I hope this facility provides children with various opportunities to enrich their lives as they grow, so they will drive the future prosperity of the community.
