Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. revised earnings guidance for the six months ended September 2015. For the period, the company raised its fiscal first-half net profit guidance to JPY 18 billion on the back of solid operating rates at its naphtha crackers. The new net profit forecast would be more than double the JPY 7.36 billion profit generated in the same period last year.

In May, the company had projected a JPY 5 billion net profit for the April-September period. For net sales, the company also increased its first-half projection to JPY 730 billion from the previous estimate of JPY 700 billion. But the number is down by about 6% from the actual sales recorded in the previous corresponding period.
