Montana Aerospace has successfully started series production of the new “Section 11 Floor Grid” product line for Airbus Atlantic. These are complex structural assemblies that are installed in the forward fuselage section of the Airbus A320. With the one-stop-shop concept, Montana Aerospace guarantees a streamlined supply chain, shorter delivery times and a reduction in CO2 emissions through optimized processes.

Montana Aerospace is a partner to the world’s most successful aerospace companies. The complex assemblies for Airbus Atlantic are manufactured in the new plant of the Montana Aerospace Aerostructures Division Universal Alloy Corporation (UAC)Europe in Baia Mare, Romania, which started operations in 2019. The “Section 11 Floor Grids” for the Airbus A320, which structurally support the cabin and distribute the weight of passengers, cargo and other equipment throughout the aircraft structure, consist of 360 individual parts, 150 subassemblies and over 6,500 standard parts.

The floor grids are assembled entirely manually at various work stations and on specially developed assembly devices. The contract with Airbus Atlantic is a long-term agreement spanning several years. Montana Aerospace AG is a leading global company with production facilities that masters the daily challenges of production and at the same time provides first-class delivery and quality performance.

With the investment in Romania, Montana Aerospace underscores its commitment to a local sourcing strategy. This strategic step minimizes transport routes, which leads to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. Montana Aerospace thus supports its customers effectively in the implementation of their sustainability goals.

In addition, as a supplier of aircraft structures, Montana Aerospace actively plans and secures its customers’ future ramp-up plans, leaving no detail unattended.
