Movida Participa?es S.A. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2021. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was BRL 1,575.24 million compared to BRL 1,035.57 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 259.38 million compared to BRL 37.2 million a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was BRL 3,591.63 million compared to BRL 3,094.56 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 542.78 million compared to net loss of BRL 74.56 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was BRL 1.8224 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of BRL 0.2578 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was BRL 1.8186 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of BRL 0.2578 a year ago.
Movida Participacoes SA is a Brazil-based company primarily engaged in the passenger car rental. The Company, through its subsidiaries Movida Locacao de Veiculos Ltda and Movida Gestao de Frotas SA, provides cars within short and long-time agreements, as well as fleet outsourcing to business customers. The Company's cars are equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS), music player and wireless Internet, as well as with other on demand facilities, such as baby car seat. Its car brand names include Volkswagen, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Renault, Jeep, Chevrolet and Mercedes, among others. In addition, the Company sells used cars. The Company operates offices in numerous cities and near airports, in Brazil.
