Namoi Cotton Limited provided production guidance for the fiscal year 2022. For the year, the company cotton crop is predicted to be 2.5 million bales (prior year was 0.6 million bales) with some of production valleys still impacted by water availability in 2020. The company is forecasting to gin around 450,000 bales from the 2021 cotton crop, which is nearly four times higher than the prior year. Namoi Cotton is operating 8 of its 9 gins with over 90% of its forecast volume contracted. Next year's 2022 (fiscal year 2023) cotton crop should be supported by the recent March 2021 flooding rains in eastern Australia. Current water availability is expected to increase the cotton area planted in late 2021, increasing the expected cotton volume for the 2022 season (fiscal year 2023).
